Newport Mind, like so many charities across the UK, has been impacted by COVID-19.
The postponement of various awareness & fundraising events has been marked by a significant drop in vital income for the charity. As you'll know, for a mental health charity such as Newport Mind continuity for our service users is essential.
Our teams have been working hard these last few weeks adapting our, normally face to face, services for the online world we are currently living in. This has included investing in digital equipment & software to enable us to not just keep in touch, but to provide essential support to the most vulnerable people in our community. We also need to continue providing PPE equipment & other lockdown essentials to our Housing & Tenancy team & tenants in our supported housing.
This all comes at a time when demand for our services is also increasing daily. Lockdown is hard on all of us. Timely and free access to mental health advice & support is needed more than ever.
By joining us in the 2.6 Challenge you'll be helping Newport Mind continue to serve our city’s community.
From Sunday 26 April 2020, the challenge is to dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise by donating on our Virgin Money Giving page:
Taking up the 2.6 Challenge can be something as simple as walking or running 2.6 miles, 2.6 km - or 26 press-ups, 26 minutes walking round the garden. it can be a sponsored activity, or a donation - £2.60 or £26 - whatever is affordable - it all adds up and will make a difference for our Charity.
Take a look at the 2.6 Challenge website for 26 creative ideas for you & anyone else in your household to get involved in!
